Thought I'd give you an update on what I've been up to since the racing season finished in October.

Sadly my race van packed up with a snapped Cam Belt on the way to the last races at Cadwell Park in October and ended up being left parked up at the side of the road in timbucktoo waiting for me to get back and pick it up.

Update and general Season Review following my final outing of the year at Cadwell Park.

Cadwell Park was always going to be my Nemisis, my first return to race there since my big crash mid way through last season. The crash finished last years season early and very nearly my racing, being very lucky to get away with 'just' a badly broken left leg & ankle. It's safe to say that I have a 'love hate' relationship with the place!

Very Short and Sweet!

Castle Combe was another first time out for me this year, as was Silverstone and Pembrey. I was really looking forward to it, having watched from the side line in a leg splint and crutches last year.

It was a 1 day event so I would need to learn the track and quickly!

1st time out in the early (08:45) Allcomers Practice/Qualifying was pretty low key as track was cold and slippy, on top of trying to learn the layout.

Hi Peeps,

Pembrey was a pukka weekend and one for the memory bank.

Let's face it Pembrey (Wales) & rain go together like fish and water, so I was praying for rain!

Finished work at 5pm on Friday having started at 7am and then set off from home at 7pm. Once over the Severn Bridge and half way to Cardiff the heavens opened and it was absolutely chuckin it down, just what I wanted, hopes for Saturday being just as bad.

Hi Peeps,

Quick update on how things are going.

Latest news is that the 748R has finally shed its skin of a life on the road and is now a beast ready for the track.

In preperation for the track;

-All road going parts stripped, lights, indicators, index plate and switches etc
-Complete Bucci (bling!) ally racing slipper clutch fitted
-All fluids replaced hydrolic, coolant, fork, engine oil
-Race grips

Oooops!

 

Well that didn't go to plan and did not go to plan by a long way.

I arrived up in the Silverstone area late on Saturday evening, along with Jason Bozwell from Twicker’s who had had to set off an hour or so later than me. Hi peeps quick Race Report/Update following my DD Races at Brands Hatch BSB Friday 2nd/3rd of April.

So, for me I had to get rid of more than a few mental Gremlins following my big crash at Cadwell Park in August last year and deal with first time back on the bike and on a track, all intentions of pre season testing had gone out the window due to lack of funds.

There has been a few changes to the Prelim' dates.

The BSB round in April is still on the cards but is not being run by New Era so yet to be confirmed, fingers crossed it happens!!!

Hi Peeps,

Quick update on the Cadwell ankle unjury. I went to see my Surgeons at St Peters Hospital on Monday and following an XRay and review the information was top drawer!
The Surgeon advised that progress has been way ahead of their initial estimates for recovery and the actual injury is completely healed with no signs of long term bone damage or the worst fear of death of the bone.
